The Challenge/Project

Having completed the Lean for Business programme, which was facilitated by Fingal Local Enterprise Office, the company became aware of many areas in their business whereby they could eliminate duplication, implement systemization, and onboard technology to assist with these processes.

Historically all their planning was done manually, with engineers tracking their jobs in a handwritten diary. Elite Woodworking Machinery Ireland wanted to introduce a digital solution to help combat these problems.

What did they do?

Recognising these issues, the company wanted to create a centralised booking system for all jobs – which could be accessed by all members of the team. As most software platforms offer a 30-day trial with no commitment they trialled various job management tools before onboarding the software that was the best fit for their business – an operating system that was simple, straightforward, and easy to customise to suit their business.

Their digital system now has the capability to pre-create email templates for quotation, invoicing, purchase orders, scheduling jobs which eliminates duplication and reduces waste by switching to paperless reporting and billing.
